The Able® Safety Jacket 2.0 is primarily designed for professional use, offering protection against minor mechanical damage such as abrasion and scratching.
The jacket’s collar and wrist cuffs provide light protection, while the padding on the arms and chest offers more protection than fabric alone.
Beneath the cotton fabric, the padding is made of foam and is placed, for example, around the chest and forearms. The foam helps absorb trauma from blows. The protective padding can be modified to suit the user’s individual needs by removing or cutting it to the desired size. Padding can be disposed of as energy waste.
The sleeve cuffs include thumb holes to help keep the sleeves in place. The cuffs also protect the back of the hands from abrasion and scratches.
The jacket is designed for comprehensive protection. Its design accounts for the most common areas of impact, scratching, biting, and grabbing. These specially protected areas include the wrists, forearms, elbows, chest, and neck.
Breathable and stretchable mesh fabric is placed under the arms and at the sides of the jacket to help reduce heat and allow for increased mobility and flexibility in demanding situations.
Key features of the jacket include reinforced stitching and durable fabric. Its durability has been tested in combat sport training, and it also serves as a barrier against bodily fluids and dirt, helping protect the user’s own clothing.
Customer safety has been a key factor in the design—for example, if a client were to bite the padding, there is no danger of tooth injury. The safety jacket belongs to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Category I and is CE marked.
The product is designed in Finland and manufactured in the EU.
Instructions for Use
Wear the jacket like any regular jacket. Insert your thumbs through the thumb holes in the sleeve cuffs to ensure the sleeves stay in place. Do not wear the jacket in environments where it could get caught in moving or rotating machine parts.
All or some of the padding may be removed if needed. Padding can be trimmed with scissors to a suitable size and shape for a better personal fit.
Product Details
Able® Safety Jacket 2.0 is made entirely of cotton (including thread and drawstrings), allowing for piece dyeing. Due to the dyeing process, the jackets do not significantly shrink in domestic washing. Our safety jackets are finished with an Aquatx treatment, which makes the fabric dirt- and water-repellent and wind-resistant. The treatment preserves the fabric’s breathability and softness.
We are committed to ensuring that our production avoids environmentally harmful chemicals. All materials meet the requirements of the international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Non-toxic dyes that comply with the standard are used in both dyeing and finishing processes. Whenever possible, we require OEKO-TEX® 100 certification for our products. OEKO-TEX® tests include pH levels, formaldehyde content, pesticides, heavy metals, chlorine compounds, preservatives such as pentachlorophenol and tetrachlorophenol, and allergenic and carcinogenic dyes.
Washing Instructions
Thanks to the materials used, the safety jacket is easy to keep clean. Wash at 40 °C. Avoid highly alkaline substances (such as stain removers or special detergents), bleach, solvents, and microemulsions. Fabric softener is not recommended. Do not tumble dry. Remove all padding before washing or ironing. Iron at medium heat (••). Ironing after washing reactivates the Aquatx treatment.
Product Warranty
The safety jacket comes with a one-year (12-month) warranty against material and/or manufacturing defects from the date of delivery. If you detect a defect or if the jacket breaks during normal use, we will replace it.

Note on Personal Safety
Complete protection cannot be achieved with a safety jacket alone. Occupational safety and protection also depend on the user’s anticipatory actions, behavior before and during an incident, and the nature of the threat. The severity of a physical attack depends on the attacker’s physical characteristics, such as build and strength, and psychological factors like motivation, knowledge, and skills. Likewise, an individual’s ability to defend themselves, injury risk, and pain perception depend on personal attributes.
Effective protection against physical harm requires not only protective gear but also training and regular practice. With proper training and Able® safety wear, you can perform your job more safely.
