ABLE® Safety jacket

The Able® safety jacket is primarily intended for work use to protect the wearer against minor mechanical hazards, such as abrasion and scratching.

The jacket's collar and the cuffs at the wrists provide lighter protection, while the padding in the arms and chest area offers more protection than the fabric alone.

Key features of the jacket include strong stitching and durable fabric. Its durability has been tested, for instance, during martial arts training. The jacket also serves as a barrier against bodily fluids and dirt, thereby protecting the employee's own clothing.

The design of the safety jacket places a strong emphasis on user safety—for instance, by ensuring that the user's teeth are not at risk if they bite the jacket's padding. The safety jacket falls under Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Category I. The product is CE-marked.

The product is designed in Finland and manufactured in the EU.

Instructions for use:

The safety jacket is put on like a regular jacket. The cuff is positioned correctly by inserting the thumb through the opening in the cuff's ribbing. The safety jacket must not be worn in situations where it could get caught in moving or rotating machine parts.

All or some of the protective vest's pads can be removed as needed. The size of the pads can be adjusted by detaching them and cutting them to the appropriate length and size, for example with scissors. This allows the user to obtain protection that feels right for them.

Washing instructions:

Thanks to its material, the safety jacket is easy to keep clean. The washing temperature is 40°C. Avoid using highly alkaline products (e.g., stain removers or special detergents), bleaching agents, and solvents during washing and cleaning.

...detergents or microemulsions of this type. The use of fabric softener is not recommended. Do not tumble dry. Remove padding before washing and ironing. Iron at a medium temperature (two-dot setting). Ironing after washing activates the product's Aquatx treatment.

Product warranty:

The safety jacket comes with a one-year (12-month) warranty against material and/or manufacturing defects, starting from the date of delivery. If you discover a defect in the safety jacket and/or it breaks during normal use, we will provide you with a replacement product. Please send us

Comprehensive protection cannot be achieved solely through a safety jacket. Occupational safety and protection are influenced by the user's own proactive measures and actions taken both before and during an incident. The intensity of a physical attack depends on the attacker's physiological characteristics—such as physique and strength—as well as their psychological state, including motivation, knowledge, and skills. Similarly, the ability to defend oneself, the likelihood of sustaining injuries, and the experience of pain are influenced by various characteristics of the person defending themselves.

Effective protection against physical attacks requires training and regular practice in addition to protective equipment. With proper training and able® safety clothing, you can perform your work more safely.

Product details:

The Able® safety jacket is made of 100% cotton (including the sewing thread and drawstrings) to allow for garment dyeing. Thanks to this dyeing process, the jackets do not shrink significantly during home laundering. Our safety jackets feature an Aquatx finish, making the fabric water- and dirt-repellent as well as windproof. This treatment does not alter the fabric's natural properties but preserves its breathability and softness.

We want to ensure that no environmentally harmful chemicals are used in production. The materials meet the requirements of the international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Non-toxic dyes compliant with the standard are used in the dyeing and finishing processes. We require OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 compliance for most of our products whenever possible. OEKO-TEX® tests fabrics for pH value, formaldehyde content, levels of pesticides, soluble heavy metals and chlorine compounds, preservatives such as pentachlorophenol and tetrachlorophenol, and allergenic or carcinogenic dyes.

The padding beneath the cotton fabric is made of foam and is located, for example, in the chest area and around the forearms. The function of the foam is to cushion the impact of blows. The protective padding can be customized to suit the user's needs and physique; this is done by removing pads or even cutting the protectors to fit specific measurements. The padding can be disposed of as energy waste.

The ribbed cuff features a thumb opening, which also helps keep the sleeve in place. The cuff protects the back of the hand from chafing or scratching.

The jacket is designed for comprehensive protection. Its design takes into account the areas most commonly subjected to blows, scratching, biting, and grabbing. These specifically protected areas include the wrists, forearms, elbows, chest, and neck.
