The “Breaking Free” training is designed for social and health care professionals who may encounter physical violence or situations where a client grabs them. The training provides practical techniques for breaking free in dangerous situations, thereby enhancing the employee's safety.
The training consists of a theory component covering emergency defense (self-defense) and key aspects of the Occupational Safety and Health Act. However, the main emphasis is on practical exercises, where participants learn safe and effective ways to break free from physical holds and protect themselves against violence.
This training has been particularly popular in the social and health care sectors, providing concrete tools for working safely in demanding situations. It is suitable for—and can be tailored to—any profession or situation involving potential physical violence or a risk of violence.
The training lasts 3 x 45 minutes. It can be tailored to the client's schedule.
The training is led by Janne Korhonen, who has experience in the social and health care sector and has served as a police officer for over 20 years. He has also taught self-defense for 20 years and holds a 2nd Dan black belt in Krav Maga.
